Saharan Division is a sovereign formation of the Armed Forces that covers the Verde approaches along the Saharan Atlantic coast. It is seated at Fortress Praia with auxiliary stations at AS Africa and NS Morocos. The nearest Division to the African mainland’s northern shore, Saharan shares the Oriental Patrol Section’s old ground with the African Division to its south, the two having been split from a single command in the early 2030s.

It is regarded as among the most peripheral divisions of the Armed Forces, since its proximity to the Sahara produces little excitement and its maritime approaches are pre-screened by the Atlantic Division to its north and the African Division to its south. As such, the Saharan Division participates mostly in littoral duties and internal security.
