African Division is the smallest of the ten Divisions of the Armed Forces, situated in the Guinean Gulf approaches in Annobon and the auxiliary naval station at Java. Its modest garrison reflects the calmer waters of its own approaches rather than any lesser standing; it remains balanced at its own scale, sized to defend itself without reinforcement rather than to project further afield.

Its constituent Guards divisions are battle-tested and well decorated despite the recent federalisation of the Verde region. No. 2 and 3 Columns of the African Guards were levied for humanitarian interventions in Zaire during the late 2050s, where they fought bravery against mercenaries in Eastern Congo. Much of the division is configured for expeditionary jungle warfare, and maintains close watch over the Commonwealth’s continental neighbours.
