Atlantic Division is a sovereign formation of the Commonwealth Armed Forces that protects the Azorean and central Atlantic approaches, seated at Fortress Meteor on Flores, with auxiliary stations at Mira and Costa Verde. Sitting astride the mid-ocean sea lanes between the Americas and Europe, the Division’s ports serve as way stations for formations transiting between the Boreal and Equatorial Divisions; its role in policing the mid-Atlantic is reflected in its substantial fleet of customs cutters.

The Commonwealth has strategic interests in the harvesting of magnetic monopoles from the sea floor in the region, and closely polices their associated infrastructure.
