Volcanic Division is the capital formation of the Armed Forces, administratively seated at Fortress Lola in Oslola – historic centre of the Oslolan North Sea Empire and still the most developed of the republics. The Division folds the Oslolan garrison together with the Arctic outposts of Kala and Helvasia, stretching from the temperate North Sea to the polar ice. It is the first and largest of the Commonwealth’s divisions, and plays a key role in the overall defence of the country.

Among its broad complement, the division carries its own fleet carrier and battlecruiser from the year-round Arctic patrol, the strategic missile submarine force, the strategic command apparatus of the Consolidated Defence Establishment, and the Nuclear and Chemical Defence Regiments, both permanently held at readiness. Historically the Commonwealth’s battleship and second battlecruiser sailed under a consolidated fleet under Volcanic command, but were reestablished with the Equatorial Division during the naval restructuring of the 2040s.

The Division also holds administrative custody of the Commonwealth’s most sensitive strategic formations – the Strategic Rocket Regiment, the 5th Strategic Security Regiment and the 6th Special Activities Regiment – whose own locations remain classified but whose command runs through Volcanic by convention, as the seat of national command.

Auxiliary stations at NS Oslola and AS Oslola provide the Division’s naval and air forces; AS Kala and NS Sedna sustain the Kala garrison while NS Helvasia serves as the country’s primary base in the far north. As the largest division, it is levied not just to defend its own approaches but to reinforce any other Division at need.
